There are several stages that we go though when developing a website.
Implementation of the Concept Design
By using specialist software to produce our concept designs, we can separate out the images and text layers that make up the design to construct the page in HTML code. As we design and develop everything in-house, we have all of the original high-resolution image source files that are used to create the web-optimized versions. This means that we have complete control over any design or layout changes that are required.
Streamlining of the Page Structure
We develop our pages using ASP. There are several reasons for this, but one useful feature of ASP is how repeated sections of code can be separated out into individual files, called include files. This allows the structure of the design to be duplicated across every page of the site without having to repeat the same code every time. This streamlining decreases development time and keeps the design consistent across the whole website.
Development of Content Pages
Once the page structure has been streamlined, the next phase is to add content to the pages we are developing. This involves regular contact with the client to write the text content and select the images to use on the site. At this stage it is common for the brief to change, with the site requiring new pages, amendments to existing pages and new features. Minor changes can easily be accommodated into the development, although major changes will require further discussion.
Search Engine Optimisation
The most important thing for any website is for people to see it. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is critical to enable search engines such as Google to list your website and allow people to find it within their search results. Getting your website to the top of Google is possible, but involves a lot of factors all working in tandem towards the same goal. We can coordinate the SEO on your website to rank highly within Google for the keywords and keyphrases that are most relevant to your business.
Upload / Launch
The launch of a website is not just a case of uploading files onto a web server. There are several other jobs that need to be done in order to let the world know that your website is available. We will submit your website to lots of search engines using professional submission software and create Sitemap XML files for Google to index your site correctly. We set up our detailed statistics package to record and monitor your website visitors as well as configure Google Analytics to gather statistics about your site from Google's point of view. We can also set up and configure a Google AdWords campaign to get your website noticed from the day it is launched.
